Publication of the 2007 edition of International Travel and Health

The 2007 version of the World Health Organization (WHO) publication ‘International Travel and Health’ is now available on the WHO website and can be ordered via the WHO bookstore.

‘International Travel and Health’ is intended for health care professionals who are advising the travelling public. Guidance is given on a wide range of travel health topics that include different types of travel such as air and sea travel, high risk travellers, food and water hygiene, insect bite precautions, malaria and vaccine preventable diseases.

For health care professionals who are advising on the risks of yellow fever disease and the requirements for yellow fever vaccination, the Country List is essential reading. Details are given of the areas where the risk of transmission of yellow fever exists and where vaccination would be recommended. Requirements for yellow fever vaccination under International Health Regulations (2005) are also listed.
